PUBLIC RELATIONS

Equestrian Sport has a long distinguished history of supporting charitable institutions. Larger equestrian events have multiple charity partners who benefit from year round promotion as well as the competitions. An additional benefit comes from the networking opportunities which are presented in the collaborations among equestrians, sponsors, vendors and community groups.

  • Co Promoting and Co Branding

  • In California Sonoma Horse Park hosts the Giant Steps Show which benefits a therapeutic riding program. The show is hosted by Gucci.

The Menlo Charity Show benefits Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. There are many other examples — a search of "charity horse shows" yields 10 pages of shows. These shows typically have a host of pre-event dinners and celebrations, as well as planning meetings which are valuable PR occasions as well.

The Better Business Bureau provides this information about the Houston Rodeo:

"The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeoâ„¢ 2013 Highlights; $75.4 million contributed to the production of the livestock show and rodeo, $6.3 million awarded to junior exhibitors, $12.3 million in new scholarships awarded to Texas youth, and $6.3 million granted to other educational programs."
